At Sene Community Co-operative Mutual, our goals and objectives are driven by a strong commitment to enhancing the financial well-being of our members while promoting sustainable development within the communities we serve.

Our Goal

To provide financial and non-financial services to the rural poor food crop farmers and fishermen through a systematic process by bringing them under an organized structure(groups). Through this process, SCCMSSS Ltd becomes a sustainable financial co-operative organization.

Our Objectives

  1. To animate and form co-operative groups of the poor food crop farmers/fishermen, retailers of agricultural produce, agro-processors and the vulnerable and to attain the improvement of their socio-economic condition through viable economic activities.
  2. To mobilize savings and share capital fund, and lend to co-operative groups and individual members.
  3. To maximize profit and pay good returns to its capital owners (shareholders) and investors.
  4. To prioritize women and unemployed youth by directly involving them in productive activities that create opportunities for additional income.
  5. To stimulate interest among unemployed youth in agribusiness, farming, and fishing within the Sene East and West Districts, as a strategy to curb the rising outmigration in pursuit of better opportunities.
  6. To create employment opportunities for both men and women through income-generating ventures, with the goal of increasing household income and gradually supporting the journey toward financial independence.
  7. To provide meaningful and sustained training opportunities and career development for all staff members and the board of directors of the organization.
  8. To provide innovative financial services so that members become self-dependent by accumulating their own capital through savings from increased income
  9. To provide financial and non-financial services to its members, so that the poor food crop farmers/fishermen can gradually decrease their dependence on moneylenders, borrowing at higher interest rates, advance sale of crops, selling and mortgaging of the farm produce/land and possibly abandon these practices.
  10. To secure fair prices for agricultural produce of its members.
  11. To facilitate access to credit (both individual and group-based), essential farming and fishing inputs, and agricultural equipment or machinery from governmental bodies, NGOs, and investors, with the goal of improving members’ productivity.
  12. To provide skill development training to farming/fishing group members.
  13. To empower members in the Districts for self-sufficiency by capitalizing their respective agricultural business activities and managing their financial needs at all times.
  14. To become a reliable partner in rural development and good corporate citizen.
  15. To undertake social responsibilities within the farming and fishing communities where it operates.
  16. To identify and develop viable tourist sites within the Sene East and West Districts, thereby promoting the area and enhancing its visibility to the outside world
  17. SCCMSSS LTD will attain self-sustainability by decreasing its external dependence through members’ savings, share capital fund, and the service charges earned from its credit programmes.
